Addressing a program held in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Upendra Yadav stated that the communist movement in Nepal is moving toward its conclusion. He mentioned that the movement is veering away from its original path towards a liberal democratic movement.
Yadav emphasized that Pushpalal should be remembered as a personality who stood for the republic throughout his life and opposed monarchy without any compromise anywhere or at any time. He recalled that the founding General Secretary of the Nepal Communist Party was removed through a conspiracy within two years of its formation, highlighting that conspiracy has been present since the birth of communism in Nepal.
He further remarked that conspiracies within the communist movement have not ceased to this day. Yadav also pointed out that at one time communists were in power, in opposition, and even active in the forests (referring to the insurgency period).
