Bagmati Province — Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama has dismissed four ministers who were reported to have resigned from their posts. On Friday evening, CM Lama removed them from office under Article 169 (2)(b) of the Constitution.
The dismissed ministers include:
- Suraj Chandra Lamichhane, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law
- Madu Kumar Shrestha, Minister for Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation
- Min Krishna Maharjan, Minister for Youth and Sports
- Bimal Chandra Thakuri, Minister for Culture and Tourism
These ministers had signed a no-confidence motion against CM Lama, led by Indra Baniya, along with 21 other provincial assembly members. The motion seeks to oust Lama from the chief ministership.
Following this move, Lama dismissed the ministers instead of accepting their reported resignations. The political situation in Bagmati Province remains tense as the no-confidence motion moves forward.
