A tragic incident occurred in Saptari district where a couple died due to electrocution while charging an electric rickshaw. The incident took place at Pauwa, Ward No. 2 of Rupani Rural Municipality.
According to Uday Kumar Rai, Police Inspector at the District Police Office, the victims have been identified as approximately 45-year-old Baleshwar Khanga Mandal and his wife, approximately 42-year-old Ramkumari Khanga.
Police reports indicate that the husband was first electrocuted while attempting to charge the rickshaw at their home. When his wife tried to rescue him, she too was electrocuted. Both died on the spot.
The bodies have been taken to Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital in Rajbiraj for postmortem. Authorities have stated that further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
