CPN-UML’s head of the publicity department, Rajendra Gautam, has stated that the return of former President Bidya Devi Bhandari to active politics is unacceptable to the party.
Speaking at an interview program organized in Bhaktapur today, Gautam remarked that Bhandari’s UML party membership and her potential political reactivation are “minor issues” for the party.
He clarified that the UML Central Committee meeting had thoroughly discussed and decided on key provisions, including the 70-year age limit, a two-term limit for executive positions, and a ban on former presidents engaging in active politics.
Gautam dismissed allegations that party chairman KP Sharma Oli did not allow anyone to speak during the meeting, asserting that the meeting concluded with unanimous consensus.
