President Ram Chandra Paudel has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Prithvi Man Gurung, former Chief of Gandaki Province, and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
In a condolence message, the President praised the late Gurung as a democratic fighter whose significant contribution to the establishment and restoration of democracy will always be remembered.
According to the President’s Secretariat, Gurung passed away at his residence today at 8:00 AM. President Paudel also recalled Gurung’s leadership role during the 1990 People’s Movement in Chitwan.
Gurung, who also served as the former president of the Nepali Congress Chitwan, was appointed as the Chief of Gandaki Province on Shrawan 12, 2078 BS.
