A six-hour power outage has been scheduled in various parts of Chitwan on Sunday, according to the Bharatpur Distribution Center of the Nepal Electricity Authority. The center issued a notice on Saturday stating that electricity supplied through three feeders will be interrupted in the morning and evening. As per the schedule, the Narayani–Madi feeder will have power cuts from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Similarly, the Meghauli–Bijaynagar–Shukranagar feeder will experience outages from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, while the Jagatpur–Rampur feeder will face interruptions from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
The center explained that the 33 kV Dog Conductor wire from the 132/33 kV Bharatpur Substation cannot handle more than 300 amperes of electricity, but due to extreme heat and increased irrigation demand, the load has reached up to 450 amperes, creating challenges in load management. It also mentioned that electricity might be restored earlier than scheduled if the problem is resolved and load management improves.
