The National Assembly of the Federal Parliament will meet today (Sunday) at 1:15 PM at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor. The agenda for today’s session includes a decision on holding clause-wise discussions on the Tourism Bill, 2081. In addition to the National Assembly meeting, five parliamentary committees are also scheduled to meet today. These include the Finance Committee, the Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee, the Education, Health and Information Technology Committee, the Public Accounts Committee, and the Joint Committee on Implementation, Monitoring, and Evaluation of Directive Principles, Policies, and Responsibilities of the State.
The Finance Committee will hold discussions with the National Natural Resources and Fiscal Commission regarding recommendations made for the current fiscal year’s budget, their incorporation in the budget, challenges faced by the Commission, and complaints received by the committee. Similarly, the Agriculture and Cooperatives Committee will discuss amendments related to the Bill to Amend Certain Nepal Acts on Land, 2082, with the proposers. The Education, Health, and IT Committee has scheduled an interaction with experts regarding the Media Council Bill, 2080. The Public Accounts Committee will deliberate on the 61st and 62nd annual reports of the Auditor General. Likewise, the Joint Committee will review the current construction schedule of the Federal Parliament Building at Singha Durbar and discuss preparations by the concerned ministry to ensure timely completion of the project.
