Devotees Flock to Shiva Temples on Second Monday of Shrawan

Today marks the second Monday of the month of Shrawan, considered highly auspicious for devotees of Lord Shiva. Despite continuous rainfall, large crowds of devotees thronged Pashupatinath Temple and various other Shiva shrines across the country to offer prayers.

The month of Shrawan is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and Mondays hold special significance as the deity’s favorite day. On this occasion, devotees observe fasting and perform special worship of Lord Ashutosh (Shiva). It is a traditional belief that offering milk and water to Lord Shiva and fasting on all Mondays of Shrawan fulfills one’s wishes and brings blessings.
