Eight Major Highways Blocked Across Nepal Due to Continuous Rainfall

Continuous rainfall since last night has caused floods and landslides, completely blocking eight major highways across the country, according to Nepal Police Headquarters.

The affected routes include Koshi Highway at Bhotkhola Rural Municipality in Sankhuwasabha, the bridge connecting Nepal-China border at Gosainkunda Rural Municipality in Rasuwa, Pasang Lhamu Highway in Rasuwa, Arniko Highway at Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality in Sindhupalchok, and Mid-Hill Highway at Shivpuri Rural Municipality in Nuwakot.

Similarly, the Jajarkot-Dolpa Bheri Corridor road at Aathbisakot Municipality in Rukum West, Karnali Corridor at Simkot Rural Municipality in Humla, and Mid-Hill Highway at Chhedagad Municipality in Jajarkot are also completely blocked, according to police.

In addition, several other roads are operating on a single lane, including the Tokha-Nuwakot road section in Kathmandu, Kaligandaki Corridor at Baglung Municipality in Baglung, Kaligandaki Corridor at Gaindakot Municipality in Nawalparasi East, Beni-Jomsom road at Thasang Rural Municipality in Mustang, and the Sahid Highway at Parivartan Rural Municipality in Rolpa.
