Subash Lamichhane Elected President of NRNA Japan with Overwhelming Majority

Subash Lamichhane has been elected as the President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) National Coordination Council (NCC) Japan. In the election held on Sunday, Lamichhane secured a total of 7,152 votes, defeating his closest competitor Siddhartha Shrestha, who received 5,193 votes.

In the race for Senior Vice President, former General Secretary Tikaram Kharel won with 6,418 votes, surpassing former Vice President Krishna Gaire Sharma, who received 5,927 votes. Meanwhile, three Vice Presidents were elected: Muktiram Khanal (Binod) with 8,702 votes, Dilip Kandel with 6,949 votes, and Deepak Sunar with 6,101 votes. Other candidates for the same post—Narayan Subedi, Dipesh Khatri (KC), and Rudra Malla (Manoj)—received 5,928, 5,783, and 3,572 votes respectively.

For the position of Regional Vice President, Bishnu Prasad Subedi (Bishwa) defeated his competitor Hariprasad Kandel by securing 6,983 votes, while Kandel got 5,362 votes. Similarly, Shyam Kumar Shrestha (Shyam Sital) was elected as General Secretary with 6,384 votes, beating former spokesperson Bishwas Gautam (Khag Raj), who received 5,863 votes.

Netra Pandey and Dilli Prasad Sapkota (Vishnu) were elected as Secretaries with 8,008 and 5,863 votes, respectively. In the election for Regional Secretary, Sagar Karki won by the largest vote margin, securing 8,515 votes and defeating his opponent Gyanendra Bhatt (Gyanu), who received 3,830 votes.

In the Treasurer category, Muktiraj Regmi emerged victorious with 5,786 votes, defeating Krishna Prasad Pokharel (Babu) who received 3,531 votes, and Rakesh Lama, who got 3,028 votes. For Regional Deputy Treasurer, Sandeep Jisi won with 4,424 votes, while Ramesh Giri and Nasiruddin Miya received 4,029 and 3,892 votes respectively.

Elected members of the Executive Committee include Milan Aryal, Kamlesh G.C., Nabin Deep Gurung, Ramesh Raj Jaisi, Niranjan Malla, Krishna Prasad Bhusal, Bhim Bahadur Budhathoki, Suresh Sapkota, and Prakash Sapkota.

Previously elected unopposed were Anju Bhandari as Women Vice President, Lalita Tamang as Women Secretary, Kamana Bhandari as Deputy Treasurer, Manju Giri as Women Coordinator, and Ishwari Aryal and Santoshi Adhikari as Women Members.
