Two pilgrims went missing on Sunday while bathing at the sacred pilgrimage site of Gosainkunda, according to District Police Chief Hem Bahadur Shahi. The missing individuals have been identified as Sujan Dhakal (around 28 years old) from Biratnagar, Morang, and Manoj Nyaupane from Belbari, Morang.
Preliminary assessment suggests that they may have drowned after entering a deep section of the lake for bathing. Search operations have been launched with the deployment of personnel from the Nepal Army’s Shreenath Battalion, Nepal Police, and the Armed Police Force, who were dispatched to Gosainkunda on Sunday itself.
