Kathmandu, July 29 – A meeting of the Socialist Front is scheduled to take place today at 1 PM at the CPN (Unified Socialist) party headquarters in Aloknagar, Kathmandu.
The Socialist Front currently comprises four political parties: the CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN (Unified Socialist), Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’-led Nepal Communist Party, and the Mahendra Ray Yadav-led Nepal Socialist Party.
Today’s meeting is expected to focus on contemporary political developments and internal activities of the front. The gathering follows prior discussions held on Sunday and Monday between Maoist Centre Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Unified Socialist Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal, who are said to have deliberated over the meeting’s agenda and the broader direction of the alliance.
The meeting comes amid speculation over potential party unification efforts and growing political challenges faced by key leaders within the front.
