The CPN-UML has delegated various responsibilities to party leaders in preparation for its upcoming Second Statute Convention, scheduled to take place from Bhadra 20 to 22 (September 5 to 7, 2025) at Sunrise Hall in Godawari, Lalitpur. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by General Secretary Shankar Pokharel. According to Dr. Bhishma Adhikari, Secretary of the Central Office, the Organizational Department has been tasked with verifying the final number of delegates. This includes confirming how many of the 10th General Convention representatives have passed away or left the party.
Several other leaders have been given specific roles to ensure the smooth conduct of the convention. Krishnagopal Shrestha will handle health-related management, while Bhanubhakta Dhakal will be responsible for mobilizing volunteers. Secretariat and food management duties have been assigned to Dr. Adhikari himself. Rajendra Gautam, head of the Publicity and Publication Department, will lead the convention’s publicity efforts. Hemraj Rai will coordinate cultural programs, including welcome dances and performances, and Binod Shrestha will manage transportation and stage arrangements.
Accommodation for delegates will largely be self-managed. However, for those unable to make their own arrangements, the responsibility will fall to the respective district or provincial contact coordination committees, under the leadership of Lalbabu Pandit. In total, 2,279 delegates are expected to attend the convention, making it a significant organizational effort for the party.
