The Election Commission of Nepal has called on all political parties to register for the upcoming by-election in Rupandehi Constituency No. 3, scheduled for Kartik 17 (November 2, 2025).
In a notice issued today, the commission announced that parties can submit their registration applications at the central office of the commission from Shrawan 21 to 27 (August 5 to 11).
The commission has already approved the election schedule for the by-election. Candidate nominations will take place on Asoj 21 (October 7) from 10 AM to 5 PM at the office of the Election Officer, with the preliminary list of candidates to be published the same evening.
The final list of candidates will be published on Asoj 24 (October 10), and voting will be held on Kartik 17 (November 2) from 7 AM to 5 PM at designated polling centers.
The commission has clarified that individuals whose names are included in the proportional representation closed list of the 2079 (2022) House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections will not be eligible to run as candidates.
