Landslides Block Mid-Hill Highway in Sindhuli

The Sindhuli section of the Mid-Hill Highway has been blocked due to landslides and mud deposits. According to the District Police Office, Sindhuli, the highway has been obstructed since Saturday morning at Akarabhir, located in Golanjor Rural Municipality–6.

Continuous overnight rainfall triggered landslides and thick mud, causing a six-wheeled truck (Na 7 Kha 7890) carrying 11 buffaloes en route to Kathmandu from Okhaldhunga to get stuck in the muddy road. Efforts are ongoing to remove the truck.

In addition, three other trucks have been held at various points along the highway due to the roadblock. Another landslide has occurred at Baleni in Golanjor–6, further obstructing the highway.

Due to the blockage, vehicles operating on the Khurkot–Ghurmi road section have been halted at Khurkot. Authorities are working to clear the landslides and mud to reopen the road.
