Two people were killed and one was seriously injured in separate motorcycle accidents that occurred in Budhiganga Rural Municipality, Morang, on Friday night.
At Aamahi Bokla Tol in Budhiganga-2, a motorcycle (Ko. 35 Pa 5033) heading from Nemua to Aamahi lost control and crashed. The rider, 35-year-old Bikash Kumar Bhagat of Nemua-3, sustained critical injuries and was rushed to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan, but doctors pronounced him dead later that night.
In another incident the same night, a motorcycle (Ko. 21 Pa 8692) traveling from Nemua towards Biratnagar along the Koshi Highway collided with a road divider at Budhiganga-3. The pillion rider, 42-year-old Kattik Bishwas of Biratnagar-4, was critically injured and taken to Koshi Hospital, where he was declared dead by doctors.
The rider, Sanjay Thandar of Biratnagar-4, also sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment. Morang police said further investigation into both accidents is underway.
