The Butwal bench of the High Court Tulsipur has ordered a status report in the case involving Rastriya Swatantra Party (Raswapa) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane.
On Wednesday, a bench led by Justice Sagar Bista conducted the hearing and requested the submission of the report. Lamichhane had filed a petition seeking release after depositing a security amount in connection with the cooperative fraud case.
Earlier, Lamichhane had submitted the same petition at Rupandehi District Court, which rejected the request. He then approached the High Court.
Lamichhane is currently in custody at Nakkhu Prison for investigation in the misappropriation case at the Supreme Saving and Credit Cooperative.
