Gen Z protesters have taken to the streets in two major urban areas of Hetauda, Makwanpur. Demonstrations occurred in Hetauda and Manhari Bazaar in the district’s western region.
Protesters in Manhari Bazaar set tires on fire, blocking the East-West Highway, according to local resident Shivkumar Rizal. Separate groups are also staging demonstrations in Hetauda’s main market and in Hatiya, Ward No. 16.
Police have strengthened security measures in Hetauda’s urban areas to maintain order.
