Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leader Hari Prasad Kandel has been sent to jail for judicial custody in connection with a fake educational certificate scandal. The Rupandehi District Court issued an order to remand him to prison while the investigation continues.
Kandel, who serves as the Bagmati Province Training Department Coordinator of the RSP, was arrested on Bhadra 4 (August/September) by Rupandehi Police. He was apprehended based on the statement of Indian national Abhishek Yadav, after a large quantity of counterfeit certificates was seized from a hotel premises at Belahiya Bus Park.
