In Surunga Municipality, Saptari, two young girls tragically drowned in a pond. The incident occurred in Ward No. 2, where the victims, residents of Hardiya, had gone to bathe in the pond.
According to the District Police Office, Saptari, 7-year-old Sustika Chaudhary, daughter of Surendra Chaudhary, and 11-year-old Aashki Chaudhary, daughter of Keshar Chaudhary, drowned while bathing. Another girl, 8-year-old Priyanshu Chaudhary, also present at the pond, survived and informed locals about the accident. The community immediately launched a search and rescued the two girls from the water.
Priyanshu remained safe, and further investigations into the incident are ongoing, police officials said.
