Nepal faced its third straight defeat in the ICC World Cup League 2 series after losing to the United States by four wickets at the Dubai International Stadium on Saturday.
Chasing a competitive target of 272 runs set by Nepal, the USA reached the total in 49 overs, losing six wickets in the process.
This marked Nepal’s third consecutive loss in the UAE series—having lost the first match to the USA by 106 runs and the second to the UAE by five wickets.
For the USA, Saiteja Mukkamalla and Milind Kumar both scored half-centuries, with Mukkamalla top-scoring with 75 runs and Kumar contributing 70. Opener Sayan Jahangir added 36 runs, Monank Patel 21, Shubham Ranjane 19, and Smit Patel 16. Sanjay Krishnamurthy and Harmeet Singh remained unbeaten on 15 and 13 runs, respectively.
In Nepal’s bowling lineup, Sandeep Lamichhane took three wickets, while Gulshan Jha, Nandan Yadav, and Karan KC claimed one wicket each.
Earlier, Nepal, invited to bat first after losing the toss, posted 271 runs in 49.5 overs. Vice-captain Dipendra Singh Airee led the innings with a half-century, scoring 75 runs off 67 balls, including three sixes and two fours.
Karan KC narrowly missed his half-century, scoring 49 runs off 31 balls with three sixes and two fours. Opener Kushal Bhurtel contributed 47 runs, Bhim Sharki 43, and captain Rohit Paudel 36, while no other batsman reached double figures.
For the USA, Harmeet Singh took three wickets, while Nosthush Kenjige and Saurabh Netravalkar picked up two wickets each.
With this win, table-toppers USA have accumulated 34 points from 23 matches. Nepal, with 12 points from 19 matches, stands seventh, while the UAE sits at the bottom with 8 points from 18 matches.
Nepal will play its final match of the series against the UAE on Wednesday, November 5 (Kartik 19).
In the eight-team league, Scotland ranks second with 30 points from 24 matches, followed by the Netherlands with 28 points, Oman with 24, Canada with 21, and Namibia with 19 points.
Each participating nation will play a total of 36 matches across nine tri-series — three at home and six away. The top four teams will qualify directly for the 2027 ICC ODI World Cup.
