Janardan Sharma, former Vice-Chair of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Centre), is holding a special press conference today. The conference is scheduled for 2:30 PM at Satkar Restaurant in Bakhundol, Lalitpur.
Sharma has opposed the Maoist Centre’s decision to merge with the Unified Socialist Party. Ahead of the party’s central committee meeting, which is expected to approve the unity decision tomorrow (Wednesday), Sharma expressed his disagreement and called the press conference.
Earlier, he met with Maoist Centre Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ to clarify that he would not participate in the unity process involving the Unified Socialist Party and seven other factions.
