Man Dies After Electric Shock While Fishing in Tanahun


A man died after being electrocuted while fishing in Chhabdikholaa, Byas Municipality-1, Tanahun, on Monday night.

According to the District Police Office, the deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Amit Suyal of the same locality.

At around 11:45 p.m., 40-year-old Ram Bahadur Gharti, his 54-year-old brother Shukra Gharti, and Amit Suyal had connected electric wires to a power plug from Ram Bahadur’s house and used it to catch fish in the stream. During the process, Amit was suddenly electrocuted.

He was immediately taken to Gandaki Province Hospital, Damauli, but was pronounced dead by doctors at around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shravan Kumar Bik of the District Police Office.
