Former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal has urged leaders attending the unification assembly of 10 political parties to take a firm pledge that the party will never split again.

Addressing the unification gathering held at Bhrikutimandap on Wednesday, Khanal called on the leaders present on stage to make a solemn commitment.

“Let us all pledge today that this party will never divide again,” he said. “We have witnessed unity before, but then came separation — ‘A’ went one way and ‘Kata’ another. Let’s ensure that doesn’t happen again. Let’s unite both ‘A’ and ‘Kata’ and move forward together.”

He further emphasized embracing the spirit of the Gen Z movement, ensuring at least 50 percent youth representation in the leadership committee, and building a strong, people-oriented, and class-based party rather than a leader-centric one.
