Nepal Ends Tri-Nation Series in UAE Without a Win


Nepal finished winless in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-nation series held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In the final match on Wednesday in Dubai, Nepal suffered a four-wicket defeat against the host nation, concluding their campaign without a single victory.

Chasing a target of 240 runs, UAE reached 241/6 in 49.1 overs. Muhammad Shahzad led the chase with a brilliant 96 runs off 123 balls, hitting six fours and three sixes. Muhammad Waseem added 76 runs off 73 balls, including four fours and three sixes. Together, they shared a 147-run partnership for the fourth wicket after UAE were struggling at 68/3.

For Nepal, Karan KC took three wickets, while Nandan Yadav, Lalit Rajbanshi, and Sandeep Lamichhane claimed one wicket each.

Batting first after losing the toss, Nepal posted 239/9 in 50 overs. Bhim Sharki top-scored with 48 runs from 68 balls, including seven boundaries. Kushal Malla contributed 46 runs (51 balls, one four, three sixes), and opener Aasif Sheikh made 34 runs off 48 balls. Dipendra Singh Airee scored 37, and Aarif Sheikh added 30 runs. At the tail end, Sandeep Lamichhane remained unbeaten on 15, forming a 42-run partnership with Malla for the ninth wicket.

Earlier in the series, Nepal lost to the USA by 106 runs, to UAE by 5 wickets, and again to the USA by 4 wickets, ending the series without a single win
