Four Suspicious Bolero Jeeps Seized in Taplejung


Four suspicious Bolero jeeps have been seized from Taplejung.

The vehicles were intercepted during joint monitoring by the Taplejung District Traffic Police Office and the Highway Safety and Traffic Management Office, Itahari, Sunsari.

According to Suman Adhikari, Chief of the Taplejung District Traffic Police Office, the jeeps were taken under control during checks conducted at various locations of Phungling Municipality.

The details of the seized vehicles are as follows:

  • Na. 1 Ja 1583: Seized because its registration number was not found in the records of the Transport Management Office, Birgunj, Parsa.
  • Ko. 1 Ja 1111: Confiscated because the engine number did not match the one recorded in the vehicle registration book.
  • Na. 3 Cha 3928: Found operating without obtaining necessary engine-related approval from the Transport Management Office.
  • Na. 2 Cha 7295: Taken into custody as the engine number did not match the registration details, and the vehicle was operating in white color despite being registered as red.

The seized vehicles will be sent to the Highway Safety and Traffic Management Office, Itahari, for further investigation.

Chief Adhikari stated that surveillance has been increased, especially during the Pathivara Temple season, as such vehicles are often found operating in the district at this time.
He also added that monitoring has been tightened not only for four-wheelers but also for two-wheelers.
