Basudev Ghimire Announces Exit from UML Party Responsibilities

Former UML lawmaker and former mayor of Tilottama Municipality, Basudev Ghimire, has announced that he has stepped away from his party responsibilities. He made the announcement through a post on social media platform Facebook. In his statement, Ghimire noted that the current aspiration of the public is not only good governance, development, and prosperity, but also leadership transfer, generational change, and transformation. He said that addressing the needs of the country, the pace of history, and the expectations of citizens is the main responsibility at present.

Stating that the leadership of old political parties has failed to address the wishes and aspirations of the people, he clearly announced that he has separated himself from the responsibilities of the party he was associated with as of today. He also expressed gratitude to everyone who provided him with opportunities and responsibilities so far. Ghimire committed to always standing with citizens with honesty and integrity in the campaign to move the country forward on the path of prosperity through good governance, development, and employment.

Ghimire writes on his Facebook page:

“At present, the desire of the public is good governance, development, and prosperity, along with the transfer of leadership, generational change, and transformation. Addressing the needs of the country, the pace of history, and the expectations of ordinary citizens is the main task at this time. Unwavering loyalty to the nation, good governance, development, and prosperity are essential conditions of politics. As the main leadership of old political parties does not appear capable of addressing the wishes and aspirations of the public, I have decided, from today, to step away from the responsibilities of the party I have been involved with. I sincerely express my gratitude to everyone who has given me opportunities and responsibilities up to this point. With honesty and integrity, I will always stand together with all of you in the campaign to move the country forward on the path of prosperity through good governance, development, and employment. Jai Desh!!!”
