The player auction for the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) is set to take place on August 8, according to an official statement by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on Saturday.
A total of 458 players have registered, including those released by franchises and new entrants. The registration deadline was July 21.
CAN announced that the registered players’ names will be sent to the franchises, and based on set criteria, a final auction list will be prepared.
The NPL will feature eight teams, which have retained their marquee players from the first season. The remaining slots will be filled through the upcoming auction.
