Kathmandu, July 30 — On the fourth trading day of the week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index dropped by 47.93 points, closing at 2,954.51 points.
The total trading volume today reached NPR 16.44 billion. Out of the traded companies, the share prices of 50 increased, while 266 saw a decline. The prices of 11 companies remained unchanged.
Except for the “Others” group, all sectoral indices ended in the red. The “Others” index rose by 0.85%, while other sectors declined as follows:
- Banking: ↓ 1.55%
- Trading: ↓ 1.72%
- Hotels & Tourism: ↓ 2.1%
- Development Banks: ↓ 3.37%
- Hydropower: ↓ 1.63%
- Finance: ↓ 2.70%
- Microfinance: ↓ 3.28%
- Non-life Insurance: ↓ 1.54%
- Life Insurance: ↓ 1.76%
- Manufacturing: ↓ 1.32%
- Mutual Funds: ↓ 0.1%
- Investment: ↓ 1.65%
Notable trading volume was observed in Himalayan Reinsurance, Himalayan Distillery, and Shivam Cement. On the gainers’ side, share prices of Sanvi Energy, Trade Tower Ltd., Samata Microfinance, and Sikles Hydropower increased.
Conversely, major losses were seen in stocks like Green Development Bank, Kalika Power Company, NADEP Microfinance, and CYC Nepal Microfinance, whose investors faced the biggest declines.
