A fire broke out at the staff quarters of Shivam Cement Industry located in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City–16 due to an electrical short circuit, according to the Bagmati Province Police Office, Hetauda.
The fire occurred on Thursday and was brought under control with the joint efforts of the police team from the temporary police post at Hatiya, a fire engine from Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City, and staff members of the cement factory.
Fortunately, there were no human casualties reported. However, the fire caused significant property damage. Items such as a microwave oven, air conditioner, refrigerator, kitchen chimney, water filter, sofa set, grinder, wheelchair, television, steel cupboard, dining set, fans, gas cylinder, fire extinguisher, and carpets were destroyed. The estimated loss is reported to be around NPR 2.5 million.
