The monsoon trough is currently positioned south of its average location in the west and near its normal position in the east.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, this afternoon the weather will remain generally cloudy in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki Provinces, and the remaining hilly regions, while the rest of the Tarai will experience partly cloudy conditions.
Moderate rainfall is likely at a few places in Koshi and Bagmati Provinces, at isolated places in Madhesh and Gandaki Provinces, and at one or two locations in the remaining parts of the country.
Tonight, skies will remain generally cloudy in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, with partly cloudy conditions elsewhere. Moderate rainfall is expected at a few places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, and at one or two locations in the remaining hilly areas.
