Kathmandu, Nepal – Karnali YBS, the defending champions of the Everest Women’s Volleyball League (EWVL), has signed legendary actor Rajesh Hamal as its brand ambassador for the second season of the league. The agreement was formalized on Saturday through a memorandum of understanding signed between Karnali YBS manager Lokendra Giri and actor Hamal.
Karnali YBS expressed pride in appointing a distinguished personality like Rajesh Hamal as their brand ambassador. The team believes his involvement will add significant value to their mission and inspire women athletes across the country.
Rajesh Hamal, often referred to as the “Maha Nayak” (Superstar) of Nepali cinema, expressed his delight in being associated with Karnali YBS, especially for a cause that supports and motivates female athletes in Nepal. Recalling his own experiences with volleyball, Hamal said, “Volleyball is a national sport, and through this platform, our daughters can make a name for themselves globally.”
He also expressed confidence in the Karnali YBS team, stating that the championship-winning squad from last season has the potential to clinch the title again this year.
Karnali YBS has also announced the continuation of coach Kumar Rai and marquee player Sumitra Regmi for the upcoming season. Regmi, who played a key role in their championship victory last season, will once again represent the team as a marquee player.
The second season of the Everest Women’s Volleyball League, organized by Infinity Dreams, is scheduled to take place from Bhadra 20 to Bhadra 28 (September 5 to September 13, 2025).
