Prohibitory Order Issued in Rupaithe, Janakpur After Communal Clash

The District Administration Office, Dhanusha has imposed a prohibitory order in Rupaithe, Janakpur, following rising tensions between two communities.

According to Chief District Officer Shankar Hari Acharya, the order was enforced after a clash between Hindu and Muslim communities in Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City, Ward No. 20, on Saturday.

The administration has restricted all forms of gatherings, rallies, sloganeering, meetings, and mass programs within the affected area.

The restricted zone covers:

  • East: Road towards Lohana
  • West: Road towards Basahiya
  • North: Baba Petrol Pump Six-Lane
  • South: Ganguli Bridge

The tension reportedly escalated during the immersion of a Durga idol, leading to the clash.

Just last month, a similar dispute occurred in the same area during the immersion of a Ganesh idol, when confrontations also broke out between the Hindu and Muslim communities, the District Police Office, Dhanusha stated.
