Today marks the first Monday of the Nepali month of Shrawan, and devotees thronged to the Pashupatinath Temple from early morning. According to Hindu beliefs, Mondays of Shrawan hold special significance as they are dedicated to Lord Shiva.
It is believed that worshiping Lord Shiva on Shrawan Mondays and offering him pure water fulfills devotees’ wishes and brings blessings. This religious tradition has drawn large crowds not only to Pashupatinath but also to Shiva temples across the country.
Devotees observe fasts and perform rituals in the hope of attaining peace, prosperity, and unshakable marital bliss. This year, there are four Mondays in the month of Shrawan.
