Nepal Stock Market Surges; NEPSE Index Jumps Nearly 81 Points

Nepal’s stock market saw a significant surge on Tuesday, the third trading day of the week, with the NEPSE index rising by 80.97 points to close at 2,973.70. Similarly, the Sensitive Index climbed 14.48 points to reach 516.98.

The bullish momentum also boosted market turnover. A total of 43,581,228 shares of 319 scrips were traded, resulting in a total turnover of NPR 20.08 billion—an increase compared to Monday’s trading volume.

Three companies hit the positive circuit level: Trade Tower, Shivam Cements, and Sanvi Energy. Shares of Unnati Sahakari Laghubitta rose by 9.90 percent, while Bindhyabasini Hydropower Development climbed 9.76 percent.

Nepal Reinsurance topped the turnover chart with shares worth over NPR 710 million traded. Shivam Cements followed with NPR 680 million, while Himalayan Reinsurance and Butwal Power Company each saw trading worth over NPR 510 million.

Out of the total traded stocks, 236 recorded gains, while only 14 declined. All 13 sectoral sub-indices closed in the green. Life insurance, Manufacturing & Processing, and Microfinance sub-indices saw the highest gains, each rising by approximately 4 percent.
