Surkhet police have arrested three individuals with illegal narcotics (brown sugar).
According to the District Police Office, Surkhet, police seized a total of 15 grams and 10 milligrams of brown sugar, Rs. 101,330 in cash, and other materials from various locations in Birendranagar Municipality on Monday.
Police apprehended 28-year-old Himal Ale of Birendranagar-5 on suspicion. Upon searching him, 11 grams and 400 milligrams of brown sugar were found hidden inside the ventilation of his hotel toilet.
During further investigation, police arrested 26-year-old Saroj Dhakal of Mulpani, Birendranagar-4, in connection with the same case. A search of his body revealed 0.36 milligrams of brown sugar.
Similarly, based on a tip-off, 47-year-old M. Gurung was arrested from Birendranagar-1. Police recovered 3.1860 grams of brown sugar from his body.
In total, police confiscated brown sugar, Rs. 101,330 in Nepali currency, two pairs of scissors, and a piece of plastic from the three suspects.
The District Police Office, Surkhet, stated that a drug-related case has been filed against the detainees, and their custody period has been extended for further investigation.
