Voter registration has surged at the District Election Office in Myagdi as the deadline for the upcoming House of Representatives election on March 5 (Fagun 21) approaches. The Election Commission has set November 15 (Kartik 30) as the last date for voter registration. The Election Commission has officially deregistered the Nepal Communist Party (Unification Campaign) led by Bamdev Gautam. The decision was made following a formal request from Gautam himself, who filed an application to dissolve his party after the formation of the new Nepal Communist Party (NCP). According to the commission, the party’s deregistration has now been completed as per Gautam’s request.

Traffic police have arrested six drivers in Kathmandu Valley for driving under the influence of narcotics. The arrests were made during a regular traffic inspection conducted by the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office in Sukedhara. The government has initiated dialogue with the Durga Prasai-led group, which has announced a protest starting in the first week of Mangsir. According to sources, the talks are being held at the Ministry of Home Affairs. On behalf of Prasai’s group, Madhav Prasad Khatri and five other representatives are participating in the discussion. The Nepal Police and Armed Police Force (APF) have received government approval to purchase 281 new vehicles in preparation for the upcoming general election scheduled for Falgun 21. The Ministry of Finance granted the procurement approval after several police vehicles were set on fire during the Gen-Z movement protests on Bhadra 23 and 24.
