Gold prices increased in the Nepalese market today. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Traders’ Association, gold rose by NPR 2,900 per tola, reaching NPR 241,500 per tola. On Sunday, gold was traded at NPR 238,600 per tola. Similarly, silver prices also went up today. Silver increased by NPR 50 per tola, reaching NPR 3,065 per tola, compared to NPR 3,015 per tola on Sunday.

Employees of the Nepal Securities Board (SEBON) have called off their protest after about one and a half months of agitation. They resumed work on Sunday, following an agreement reached between the protesting employees and the Ministry of Finance. According to the agreement, a study committee will be formed to provide recommendations ensuring that employees’ benefits and facilities will not be reduced. The committee was formed under the direction of Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal, after a meeting between Joint Secretary Uttarkumar Khatri and SEBON employees.
