A total of 47 Nepali women attempting to travel to Kuwait on a visit visa without proper clearance (NOC) have been deported from the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, India, and returned to Nepal. The women were intercepted at the Delhi airport in coordination with the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi and brought back to Nepal via land route on Thursday night. They were handed over to authorities in Rupandehi district. Two Chinese nationals have been arrested from Thamel, Kathmandu with 2 kilograms of gold and Rs 2.4 million in cash. According to police, the arrested individuals have been identified as 34-year-old Sumei Zhou and 46-year-old Chunlin Than, both residents of Xichuan, China. They were taken into custody by police on Monday evening. Authorities have launched a further investigation into the case. In recent times, the involvement of Chinese nationals in various criminal activities in Nepal has been on the rise.
