The price of gold in the Nepali market has declined again on Wednesday. Compared to Tuesday, the price of gold dropped by Rs 700 per tola today. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, gold was traded at Rs 2,37,000 per tola on Tuesday, but it is being traded at Rs 2,36,300 per tola on Wednesday. Gold prices have been continuously declining in recent days. Meanwhile, the price of silver has increased. Silver, which was traded at Rs 2,920 per tola on Tuesday, rose by Rs 45 to reach Rs 2,965 per tola on Wednesday.

Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index increased by 62.29 points to settle at 2,571.34 today. This is a 2.48% rise in the overall market index. A total of 92,43,723 shares of 314 companies were traded in 47,094 transactions, resulting in a total turnover of Rs. 4.57 billion. Except for the Trading sector, all other sub-indices saw gains today. Nyadi Hydropower Limited and Butwal Power Company Limited hit the positive circuit limit during today’s trading session. The day after Tihar, homes across the country were filled with light, but darkness fell over industries in Rupandehi. The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) cut off power supply last Friday evening, citing non-payment of premium charges for dedicated and trunk power lines, shutting down 10 industries in the Butwal–Bhairahawa industrial corridor.
