On Sunday, the first trading day of the week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index recorded a slight gain. The NEPSE index increased by 5.19 points to close at 2,509.04 points. The price of gold in the Nepali market dropped on Sunday following the Tihar festival. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of gold decreased by Rs. 11,600 per tola today. With the latest adjustment, the price of gold has been fixed at Rs. 2,41,900 per tola. Before Tihar, on Kartik 3, gold was traded at Rs. 2,53,500 per tola. The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has disconnected electricity supply to six major industries after they failed to clear outstanding dues totaling over Rs 4 billion. The NEA cut power lines to Jagdamba Steel, Reliance Spinning Mills, Shivam Cement, Ghorahi Cement, Arghakhanchi Cement Industry, and Triveni Spinning Mills. The price of gold in the Nepali market has increased slightly. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of gold rose by Rs. 300 today, reaching Rs. 253,500 per tola. On Sunday, the price of gold had dropped by Rs. 4,800, falling to Rs. 253,200 per tola. Along with the rise in gold prices, the price of silver has also increased slightly. According to the federation, the price of silver stands at Rs. 3,280 per tola today, compared to Rs. 3,275 per tola on Sunday.
