The head coach of the Nepal national men’s football team, Matt Russ, has resigned from his position, according to the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA). Russ, an Australian coach, had signed a one-year contract with ANFA last Falgun, but he stepped down after just eight months, confirmed ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai. The reason behind his resignation will be announced later, Rai said. Under Russ’s leadership, the Nepali team played seven international matches, securing one win, two draws, and four losses. Nepal’s only victory during his tenure came against Singapore, which was also his debut match as head coach.

Following a federal directive, the Lumbini provincial government has launched a cost-cutting initiative expected to save around Rs 3 million per month. The National Inclusive Commission has submitted its annual report for the fiscal year 2081–82 to President Ramchandra Poudel. The Patan High Court has dismissed the writ petition filed by Raju Nath Pandey, the Chief of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Police Force. A joint bench of Judges Dal Kumar Khadka and Deepak Khanal rejected Pandey’s writ petition, which also rendered the previously issued interim order ineffective. Earlier, the court had issued an interim order directing Pandey’s reinstatement after he claimed his suspension was illegal.
