Former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has arrived at Sheetal Niwas. He visited to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed ministers. The Federal Parliament Secretariat has requested the return of items taken from the Parliament building during the Gen-Z youth protests on Bhadra 24. On Monday, the Secretariat’s Internal Services and Planning Division issued a notice stating that printers, scanners, cameras, televisions, monitors, microphones, mixers, speakers, photocopy machines, and other electronic equipment were reportedly taken by unauthorized individuals. Baglung – Continuous rainfall has disrupted traffic along the Baglung section of the Kaligandaki Corridor, a project of national pride. According to District Police Office Baglung spokesperson Keshav Thapa, landslides at Kalakhola Bagar in Baglung Municipality–13 and Belbagar in Jaimini Municipality–8 have blocked the road, bringing vehicular movement to a halt. Authorities said landslides have frequently occurred in the Kalakhola area, and clearing the debris has been difficult due to ongoing rainfall. The Kaligandaki Corridor Project, construction contractors, and Baglung Municipality are expected to begin road clearance efforts once the rain subsides.

Attorney General Ramesh Badal has resigned from his post. Badal, who was appointed by outgoing Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, submitted his resignation on Bhadra 24 (September 9), according to Office Spokesperson and Deputy Attorney General Uddhav Prasad Pudasaini. The Office of the President formally conveyed Badal’s resignation to the Office of the Attorney General on Sunday. Badal had been appointed Attorney General on Shrawan 2, 2081 (July 18, 2024) upon the recommendation of then Prime Minister Oli, with the approval of President Ramchandra Paudel.

The government has decided to form a high-level Transport Management Committee to ensure safe and smooth travel for passengers during the current situation and the festive season, and to immediately address complaints related to transport services. Police have arrested eight individuals with 730 rounds of ammunition from Banepa Municipality–9. According to the Central Police News Room, those arrested include 26-year-old Sijan Suwal and 28-year-old Subash Gautam of the same ward, two teenagers aged 18 and 15, 20-year-old Mahesh Mukhiya of Bara, 24-year-old Sushant Lo of Bakaiya Rural Municipality–6 in Makwanpur, 21-year-old Timothy Tamang of Temal Rural Municipality–2, and 34-year-old Achyut Khadka of Panauti Municipality–10. With Dashain approaching, Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has started the distribution of small denomination notes. From Ashoj 1 to Ashoj 10, the general public will be able to exchange small notes. Despite recent political turmoil causing some uncertainty in note distribution, the bank’s physical reserves remain largely unaffected, allowing the program to commence on schedule, NRB spokesperson Kiran Pandit stated.
