Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has likened the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) to a seasonal flash flood. The government has unveiled a master plan to set up 424 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations along 80 national highways, aiming to support the growing adoption of EVs in Nepal. Currently, there are around 450 charging stations in the country, mostly concentrated in urban areas. The master plan, prepared by the Water and Energy Commission Secretariat, proposes to establish charging points every 25 to 100 kilometers. Police have arrested notorious gang leader Raju Gorkhali as part of a recent crackdown on organized crime. A resident of Sindhupalchok, Gorkhali was taken into custody by the Kathmandu District Police Office on banking offense charges. He is also affiliated with the Nepali Congress and has been arrested numerous times in the past. In the 2022 parliamentary elections, his name was recommended as a candidate from Sindhupalchok Constituency-2 by the Nepali Congress. In Kanchanrup Municipality-5, Pipra, Saptari, a husband and wife died after being electrocuted on Saturday night. The deceased have been identified as 50-year-old Badri Sardar and his 45-year-old wife, Bimala Devi Sardar. The couple was returning home around 8 PM after working in their field when the accident occurred. The Narayangadh–Muglin road, which was blocked by a dry landslide, has now reopened. The incident occurred this morning at Tuiun Khola, Ichhakamana Rural Municipality–5, Chitwan, when a landslide carrying rocks fell onto the road. According to Supervisor Ishwar Kshetri, the road division used two mechanical machines to clear the debris, and traffic resumed in both directions at 8:10 a.m. Kshetri also warned that the risk of landslides is high in this area during the monsoon season and urged travelers to proceed only after assessing safety conditions.

Traffic along the Hetauda–Palung–Kathmandu road section has resumed after 14 hours of disruption. According to police, vehicular movement was restored at 2:30 pm on Thursday after clearing a landslide at Lamidanda in Ward 9 of Bhimphedi Rural Municipality, Makwanpur, along the Tribhuvan Highway. A team from the Bhainse Police Post cleared the debris about 22 kilometers from the post, making the road passable again, informed DSP Shyamu Aryal of Makwanpur.
