A microbus carrying pilgrims, who were returning from Khotang to Siraha, was involved in an accident near Kaduwa Daunthekola. One person died at the scene and 14 have been injured. The microbus, bearing the registration number Province 2–0–1–001 J 0053, fell approximately 200 meters on the Jayeram–Halesi stretch of road around 9 a.m. There were 16 passengers on board. Due to continuous rainfall, the water flow in the Saptakoshi River has surged significantly. On Sunday evening, the flow at the Koshi Barrage was measured at 191,210 cusecs per second. As of this morning, the flow remains high, recorded at 175,685 cusecs per second, according to Armed Police Force Superintendent Nirmal Thapa. Fifteen people were injured in a bus accident in Nawalpur. According to police, the accident occurred in Kharkatta forest of Kawasoti along the East-West Highway. The bus, with registration number Na 7 Kha 1576, was heading from Danda to Narayanghat when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn on the roadside. The Government of Nepal has extended the deadline for the Narayanghat–Butwal road section, part of the East-West Highway and a project of national pride, by one more year.
