Journalists were barred from attending the clause-wise discussion of the "Bill to Amend Some Nepal Acts Related to Land." The discussion is taking place in the Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee under the House of Representatives. As soon as the meeting began, the marshal informed the journalists that they were not allowed to enter and requested them to remain outside. The bill has received a total of 55 proposed amendments.

KATHMANDU, Aug 6 (RSS): The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has convened a meeting of its central committee for Friday at 1 PM, the party secretariat confirmed. The meeting will deliberate on current political developments, preparations for the upcoming by-election in Rupandehi-3, and discuss the list of aspirants for candidacy. The Government of Nepal has decided to open Chulu Far East Peak for mountaineering. The decision was made during the Cabinet meeting held on Shrawan 18. Newly appointed Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Indra Bahadur Baniya, has officially taken the oath of office and secrecy. The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by Province Chief Deepak Prasad Devkota on Tuesday afternoon at the Office of the Province Chief. Indra Bahadur Baniya, leader of the Nepali Congress parliamentary party in Bagmati Province, has been appointed as the Chief Minister of Bagmati Province. Province Chief Deepak Prasad Devkota appointed Baniya on Tuesday in accordance with Article 168(2) of the Constitution. On Monday, Baniya had submitted his claim to the Province Chief with the support of 64 provincial assembly members from the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML.
