The district-level election of Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal (JSPN) in Saptari has been postponed. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli held a courtesy meeting with President Ram Chandra Paudel on Saturday at the Presidential Palace, Shital Niwas. The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has called for the implementation of a system allowing Nepali citizens living abroad to vote in upcoming elections. Speaking at an all-party discussion organized by the Election Commission, RSP Deputy General Secretary and Lumbini Province in-charge Bipin Kumar Acharya urged the commission to ensure that Nepalis residing overseas are granted the right to vote starting from the upcoming by-election. Senior Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has advised party president Sher Bahadur Deuba to act as a guardian for all political leaders, not just those within the ruling alliance. Sixteen student unions, including those affiliated with the ruling coalition, have jointly called on the government to immediately enact the School Education Act. In a joint statement issued on Friday, organizations such as the Nepal Student Union (NSU), All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (ANNFSU), and All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union – Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) urged the government to introduce a student-friendly law without further delay.
