A massive landslide along the Hungung section of the Koshi Highway in Bhotkhola has blocked traffic for the past three days. The 115-kilometer stretch connecting Khandbari to the Kimathanka border point has been completely shut since Thursday after the landslide struck. An unidentified body was discovered this morning on the banks of the Marsyangdi River at Dhapsatar, Aanbukhaireni Rural Municipality-2, Tanahun. According to the District Police Office, Tanahun, the deceased is estimated to be a man aged between 30 and 35. His name, surname, and place of origin have not yet been identified. The landslide, accompanied by falling rocks, has completely obstructed traffic in both directions. According to Police Inspector Pratik Singh of Muglin Area Police Office, a disaster management team has been mobilized, and efforts are underway to clear the debris using an excavator. Vehicles heading toward their destinations have been stranded due to the obstruction. The Narayangadh–Muglin stretch is prone to frequent blockages caused by recurring landslides.
