Prime Minister Sushila Karki has called a Cabinet meeting for this evening.According to sources at Baluwatar, the meeting will discuss the formation of a commission to investigate the suppression and damages caused during the Gen Z movement. This is the first Cabinet meeting after a gap of one week. The previous Cabinet meeting was held last Sunday. So far, the Cabinet has only four members: Prime Minister Karki; Rameshwor Khanal (Finance); Kulman Ghising (Urban Development, Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, and Physical Infrastructure and Transport); and Om Prakash Aryal (Home, Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs).

Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leader Hari Prasad Kandel has been sent to jail for judicial custody in connection with a fake educational certificate scandal. The Rupandehi District Court issued an order to remand him to prison while the investigation continues. Kandel, who serves as the Bagmati Province Training Department Coordinator of the RSP, was arrested on Bhadra 4 (August/September) by Rupandehi Police. He was apprehended based on the statement of Indian national Abhishek Yadav, after a large quantity of counterfeit certificates was seized from a hotel premises at Belahiya Bus Park.

The Nepali Congress (NC) has informed that party president Sher Bahadur Deuba’s health condition is gradually improving. Speaking to the media after a party meeting held at the central office in Sanepa on Friday, NC publicity department chief Min Bahadur Bishwakarma provided updates on Deuba’s condition. According to him, Deuba sustained serious injuries above the neck and required 12 stitches. He is now able to engage in normal conversation and walk around.
