The meeting of the House of Representatives was adjourned after failing to meet the required quorum. An attempt was made to present the proposal to deliberate on the Information Technology and Cyber Security Bill, 2082, but the meeting was adjourned due to insufficient quorum. Maoist MP Gyanu Basnet, while presenting the bill for consideration, demanded a headcount, citing that the quorum was insufficient. Out of the required 69 members, only 66 were present, prompting Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire to adjourn the meeting. The next meeting has been scheduled for tomorrow at 1 PM.

Ramhari Khatiwada, Chairperson of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee, has submitted his resignation to Speaker Devaraj Ghimire. As announced in the House of Representatives yesterday, Khatiwada handed over his resignation today. He had declared his intent to resign following the submission of the parliamentary special investigation committee's report regarding irregularities in the cooling period of the Civil Service Bill.

The Kathmandu district convention of the Rastriya Prajatantrik Yuwa Sangathan, the youth wing of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), descended into chaos on Wednesday before it could formally begin at SR Banquet in Dhumbarahi. Amid heated arguments and slogan chanting among participants, RPP Chair Rajendra Lingden announced the postponement of the convention before the proceedings started. However, a rival faction supporting RPP senior leader Dhawal Shumsher Rana claimed the convention had already been completed and declared themselves the winners. The group also issued a signed memorandum alleging that the convention was being conducted in a unilateral, undemocratic, and statute-violating manner.

The district convention of the Rastriya Prajatantrik Yuwa Sangathan, the youth wing of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), has been postponed in Kathmandu. The event, held at a party palace in Dhumbarahi, was disrupted before the formal inauguration when supporters of party chair Rajendra Lingden and general secretary Dhawal Shumsher Rana clashed physically. Chairman Lingden was present at the venue when youths aligned with General Secretary Rana chanted slogans. Following the confrontation, Lingden announced that the convention could not proceed under such circumstances and declared it postponed.

The Election Commission has decided that Ranjita Shrestha will remain the Chairperson of the Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP).
